Our feet are designed to walk on natural, soft surfaces like soil and sand. As the foot strikes soil or sand, these surfaces give way to accommodate the lower limbs natural degree angles. Due to daily activities, we give our feet a daily pounding by walking and standing on unnaturally hard flat surfaces. This causes our feet to roll inwards also known as pronation.
Poor alignment of the feet and legs can lead to wear and tear to other parts of the body, as this can disrupt normal knee function and hip alignment as well as increasing forces on the muscles in the lower back.
Orthotics are used to restore the lower limbs natural 4 degree angle therefore realigning the feet and body posture to their correct position.
In addition to providing orthotics when relevant, are therapists at Clinic 21 will also treat the sole of the foot and other lower limb musculature in order to provide you with the best results.
